On southern slopes of Adjara-Imereti range, 1600m above sea level, close to Goderdzi pass, on the territory of Shkernali, Goderdzi Alpine Garden is located which is stretched on 10 hectares.
This site was once covered with the subalpine forest but today it is home to the forest, meadow, lake, swamp and keystone ecotypes. Flora is diverse here with 6 species of hardwood and 100 grass plants.
Preparations for the establishment of this alpine garden started in 2012 and its creation was finalised in 2016 with the initiative of the Batumi Botanical Garden.
One of the constitutive parts of the Alpine garden is the stone garden which is being arranged by Georgian and foreign specialists.
